Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) and supporting personal development. We help students build confidence, emotional resilience, social skills, and essential life skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. The program emphasizes the "how" of personal growth, preparing students for future challenges.
Students work towards the Bronze Award in small groups with a high staff-to-student ratio for tailored support. This approach encourages personal growth, resilience, and self-reflection to support students to positively re-engage with their education.

Accessing local facilities and accessing a choice of physical activity to complete over the term. Students would engage in learning around their chosen physical activity and set a plan for improvement. Results would be collated and monitored throughout the sessions. Progress would be reviewed regularly.

The skills section will be completed through hands-on opportunities in joinery, art or hospitality and catering. Students will have the chance to create pieces of furniture from pallet boards, which will be sold to the community or gain experience in hospitality and catering by working in the InspirED Café where they will prepare and serve food.

Our Community-Based Volunteering opportunity, part of our Duke of Edinburgh's Award offer, provides students with the chance to give back to their local communities while developing key life skills. Through volunteering, students can engage in a variety of projects, such as supporting local charities, environmental initiatives, or assisting community events. This experience fosters teamwork, responsibility, and leadership, while also providing a sense of achievement and personal growth. It's a great way for students in our alternative provision to connect with their community, build confidence, and contribute to meaningful causes.

Our expedition and bushcraft program allows students to gain exposure to Yorkshire's natural beauty. Students will engage in a number of outdoor activities and gain practical skills in navigation, survival, and orienteering. They will also develop teamwork skills, resilience and organisation. They will engage in 12 sessions preparing for the final assessment at the end of the program.
The Nurture program is aimed at key stage 3 learners who need something different from the adults in their world. Our program is designed to upskill learners in a range of softer skills and key competencies so they are more equipped to navigate the demands of mainstream education.
The program runs for a term and is linked to Kings Trust to offer an accredited course workingin areas such as;
- Personal Resilience
- Team Building
- Well-being and physical health.
The workcompleted over the term will result in an award from Kings Trust with the opportunity to graduate into the Nurture + program which will offer the opportunity to complete at Certificate level.

The sport pathway is designed to build on key skills developed in the Nurture program and ensure appropriate challenge whilst developing and understanding of the importance of being active

A key part of thispathway is young people further developing their understanding of self. Areas of strength and areas that require developing. This is delivered through an ELSA practitioner

Through targetted goal setting the young people will push themselves outside of theit comfort zone and take risks with their learning. Personal development encompasses everything we do at InspirED and through these targetted sessions we hope to utilise these growing skills

An opportunity to use all the skills they have been developing to create an idea and put this into practice as a team. The pathway includes product creation/design, public speaking and must impact the community.
